《纽约时报》的数字化转型研究

【摘要】:互联网传播的蓬勃发展对传统报业造成了巨大的冲击,广告业绩与发行量持续下滑,维持运营数百年的产业模式岌岌可危,不断有媒体破产或停止印刷纸质版的消息传出;但另一方面,互联网也为传统报业迎来绝处拐点的新生机提供了驱动力,很多人在网络媒介的数字化传播方式中看到了报业的重生机遇,向数字化转型已经成为现今纸媒行业的行动自觉。《纽约时报》作为资历深厚的老牌传统媒体,是报业进行数字化转型的先行者,二十余年的转型历程积累了丰富的经验和教训,具有一定的代表性。特别是2014年以来,《纽约时报》加大转型力度,全面建立"数字优先"的战略规划并进行了一系列创新改革,其数字订户数量和数字营收大幅增长,数字化转型取得了阶段性成果。因此本文以《纽约时报》为研究对象,主要采用文献研究法和个案研究法,通过对相关文献的收集、整理与分析,梳理出《纽约时报》二十余年来进行数字化转型的探索轨迹,从编辑机制、驱动技术和新闻产品三个方面来具体分析,并结合时报转型经验对我国报业数字化转型提出建议。研究发现,《纽约时报》的数字化转型打破了封闭生产、人才单一、传者中心的旧惯习,打通了工作空间、生产流程、职能部门之间横亘的围墙,进而消除了编辑室内部文化和心理认同上的隐形藩篱;《纽约时报》的新闻编辑室内正在掀起一股前所未有的技术风潮,新技术和新工具在其数字化转型过程中发挥了重大作用,未来的新闻业将向更加智能化的方向发展;在新闻产品的创新开发方面,《纽约时报》注重将更多技术因素融入其中,实现内容的数字化生产与传播。"新闻"不再是只提供即时消息的报道,而变成集信息服务与感官体验于一体的数字化产品。《纽约时报》的数字化转型取得了相当多值得肯定的成果,为今后继续向纵深方向推进转型奠定了基础,结合《纽约时报》的转型经验与教训,本研究从制定发展战略规划、打造优质内容产品、引入数字化生产理念和培养数字化人才队伍等四个方面对我国报业的数字化转型提出建议,以更好地应对传媒行业变革。
[Abstract]:The vigorous development of Internet communication has caused a huge impact on the traditional newspaper industry, the advertising performance and circulation volume continue to decline, the industrial model of maintaining operation for hundreds of years is at risk, and the news that the media went bankrupt or stopped printing paper version is coming out. But on the other hand, the Internet has also provided a driving force for the traditional newspaper industry to usher in the new vitality of the turning point. Many people have seen the rebirth opportunity of the newspaper industry in the digital communication mode of the network media. The "New York Times", as a veteran traditional media with profound qualifications, is a pioneer in the digital transformation of the newspaper industry, and has accumulated rich experience and lessons in the course of its transformation for more than 20 years. It has certain representativeness. In particular, since 2014, the New York Times has stepped up its transformation efforts, fully established the "Digital first" strategic plan and carried out a series of innovative reforms, with its number of digital subscribers and digital revenues growing dramatically. Digital transformation has achieved periodic results. Therefore, this article takes the New York Times as the research object, mainly adopts the literature research method and the case study method, through the collection, the arrangement and the analysis to the related literature, combs the "New York Times" more than 20 years to carry on the digitization transformation exploration track. This paper analyzes the three aspects of editing mechanism, driving technology and news products, and puts forward some suggestions on the digitization transformation of Chinese newspaper industry based on the experience of times transformation. The study found that the digital transformation of the New York Times broke through the old habits of closed production, single talent, and center of transmitters, opening the walls between work spaces, production processes, and functional departments. In turn, it removed the hidden barriers of cultural and psychological identity in the newsroom; the New York Times's news editing room was setting off an unprecedented technological wave, and new technologies and tools played a major role in its digitization transformation. "the news industry in the future will develop in a more intelligent direction. In terms of innovative development of news products, the New York Times will focus on integrating more technical factors into it to achieve digital production and dissemination of content." News "is no longer just an instant messaging report, but a digital product that integrates information services and sensory experiences. The digital transformation of the New York Times has produced a lot of positive results." This study lays a foundation for the further development of the transition in the future. Combined with the experience and lessons of the New York Times, this study aims to develop a strategic plan for the development of high-quality content products. This paper introduces the concept of digital production and the cultivation of digital talents and puts forward some suggestions for the digital transformation of the newspaper industry in China in order to better cope with the reform of the media industry.
