应用语言学类硕士学位论文“讨论部分”的修辞结构研究

【摘要】：近年来,中国学者在国际期刊上的发文量虽有所上升,但其质量与国际期刊标准存在较大差距(赵冰,2010)。国内虽已开设英语学术论文写作课程,但英语硕士论文仍存在较多问题(鲁会强,2007;熊淑慧,2012)。 本研究以修辞结构理论(RST)为研究视角,以英语应用语言学类硕士论文的“讨论部分”为研究对象,运用定量和定性结合的研究方法,对其宏观修辞结构和微观修辞关系应用展开批评,共分为两个步骤。第一步,为建构批评分析框架参考,在修辞结构理论指导下,利用Mick O'Donnell博士研发的RST文本分析工具,对20篇应用语言学类国际核心期刊上的学术论文“讨论部分”进行分析,构建语篇树库,总结“讨论部分”的宏观修辞结构和微观修辞关系运用趋势。第二步,以上述批评框架为参照,对20篇国内英语应用语言学硕士论文的“讨论部分”进行批评,考察宏观结构和微观修辞关系运用上存在的问题,并探讨问题产生的原因。 研究发现,国内英语应用语言学硕士论文的“讨论部分”在宏观修辞结构上存在三点问题：(1)“讨论部分”布局跳跃；(2)信息陈述不相关；(3)论述充分性缺失。微观方面存在四点问题：(1)EDUs (Elementary Discourse Units)排列错乱；(2)修辞表达双语转述错位：(3)EDUs间逻辑语义关系缺乏；(4)EDUs间话题转换跳跃。本研究进一步分析造成这些问题的原因,得出以下三点：母语负迁移的影响,中西思维模式的截然不同,和国内英语学术论文写作教学的弱化。
