英语学术论文讨论部分的人际意义分析

【摘要】:随着英语话语的快速扩张发展,英语学术语篇变得尤为重要。学术论文是学术语篇的一种重要形式。如今,大多数发表的学术论文都是用英文写的,同时,由于在世界著名学术期刊上发表英语学术论文能帮助研究人员分享研究成果,显示个人创造力。此外,学术写作包含与读者的互动,这已成为人们的共识。因此,研究人员都想提高学术写作水平以及知道如何在英文学术论文中更好的和读者交流。至今为止,对学术论文结构和语步的研究已经得到很多关注。学术讨论部分帮助作者评价和阐释了与论文研究问题相关的数据,因此是学术论文的重要组成部分。但是,对学术论文讨论部分的研究却鲜有研究者涉及。鉴于此,本文以系统功能语法和评价理论为理论指导,试图研究蕴藏在英语学术论文讨论部分中的人际意义,并探讨人际意义的实现手段的主要使用特征。本文依据Hallida y提出的人际意义理论和Martin及其同事根据人际意义理论发展而来的评价理论,对来自6份著名学术期刊的6 0篇有关语言学、医学和化学三个学科的学术论文讨论部分进行人际意义分析。本文以这6 0篇学术论文的讨论部分为研究语料,从语气、情态、人称和评价系统对语料进行定量和定性分析,揭示这三个学科论文讨论部分作为人际意义实现手段的语气类型、核心情态动词、情态附加语、人称代词、态度、介入和级差资源的总体使用特征。研究结果显示:介入和级差资源是这三个学科英文论文讨论部分使用最频繁的用于实现人际意义的资源,两者在每个学科的语料中所占的比重均超过2 0‰。该研究同时表明情态附加语和人称系统是这三个学科英文论文讨论部分使用最不频繁的用于实现人际意义的手段,两者在每个学科的语料中所占的比重均不超过8.5‰。虽然本研究存在不少不足之处,如语料库的数量和对实现人际意义手段的确认等,但本研究可以为国内外语言学、医学和化学研究者就如何实现英文论文讨论部分的人际意义提供启示。除此之外,本研究还有利于教师开展学术写作教学,帮助学生更好的了解学术写作和提高他们的写作水平。
[Abstract]:With the rapid development of English discourse, English academic discourse becomes more and more important. Academic papers are an important form of academic discourse. Nowadays, most of the published academic papers are written in English. At the same time, publishing English academic papers in world-famous journals can help researchers share their research results and show their personal creativity. In addition, academic writing involves interaction with readers, which has become a consensus. Therefore, researchers want to improve academic writing and know how to better communicate with readers in English academic papers. Up to now, much attention has been paid to the structure of academic papers and the research of Scolar step. The part of academic discussion helps the author to evaluate and interpret the data related to the research of papers, so it is an important part of academic papers. However, there are few researches on the discussion of academic papers. In view of this, this paper, guided by systemic functional grammar and evaluation theory, attempts to study the interpersonal meaning contained in the discussion part of English academic papers, and to explore the main features of the means of realizing interpersonal meaning. Based on the interpersonal meaning theory put forward by Hallida y and the evaluation theory developed by Martin and his colleagues according to the interpersonal meaning theory, this paper deals with 60 articles of linguistics from six famous academic journals. The discussion part of the three subjects of medicine and chemistry carries on interpersonal meaning analysis. Based on the discussion part of the 60 academic papers, this paper makes quantitative and qualitative analysis of the corpus from mood, modality, person and evaluation system. This paper reveals the general characteristics of mood types, core modal verbs, modal adjuncts, personal pronouns, attitude, intervention and differential resources as the means of interpersonal meaning realization in the discussion part of the three subjects. The results show that intervention and differential resources are the most frequently used resources to realize interpersonal meaning in the English discourse of these three subjects.
