英汉应用语言学学术论文中的作用身份研究

【摘要】: 本文采取对比分析的方法,通过第一人称,研究应用语言学领域英汉学术期刊论文中的作者身份。本研究从六种中外权威的学术期刊中随机挑选了57篇应用语言学实证性论文,组成汉语学术论文语料库(CRA)和英语学术论文语料库(ERA)。采用定量和定性相结合的研究方法,确定第一人称的出现频率、语篇功能和语义所指。两个语料库的对比表明,英汉学术论文在第一人称使用上存在较大差异。 主要发现包括:(1)尽管汉语学术论文语料库中出现了为数不少的第一人称,但均为复数形式,甚至是在唯一作者的文章中也没有发现第一人称单数;(2)我们一共找到了九种第一人称的语篇功能,并按照作者身份的强弱排序。中国学者更倾向于在中等或低等风险度的语篇功能上使用第一人称;(3)第一人称可用于指代作者,作者+读者,作者+他人,整个话语群体,或者泛指人。在采用“观点持有者”或“创作者”这两种身份时,中国人往往更喜欢用包含性的“我们”,把读者也包含在内。 总之,中国人在学术语篇中构建的作者身份要弱一点。中国集体主义的文化和自我表现层面的社会化倾向可能是出现这种现象的原因。
