海外汉学中的《西游记》宗教文化研究

【摘要】：有关宗教问题的探讨是伴随着《西游记》成书即发轫的,这一寓体丰杂、意涵深微、影响深远的长篇巨制以玄奘求取经书为蓝本,从主题上就带有浓厚的宗教色彩。尽管百年来对"西游"宗教主旨的探讨和争论不断,但肯定的是,《西游记》所述并非简单的神魔故事,而是一部充满了宗教术语、双关语、教义和寓言,受历史塑造,由儒释道三教文化碰撞而生的产物。就《西游记》的海外研究来说,其译介已近三百年,是最早一批进入西方视野的中国古典小说,有着广阔的受众基础和学术根基。而从海外的研究成果来看,汉学家们不仅从文本层面上深入探讨《西游记》的翻译、传播、情节、主旨,还借助对比视角的天然优势分析文本的寓言性、喜剧性和朝圣主题等,形成了大量文论方面的批评作品,其中对于宗教文化问题的研究贯穿始终,可以说构成了域外"西游学"的经纬。但就目前学术背景看,上述海外成果中的大部分未经中译,许多材料湮没无闻,在国内学界尚未引起足够的重视,一方面使横向的同类研究不能彼此完善、互通有无,另一方面也使得目前对《西游记》学术现状和前沿的理解和评价有失全面、公允,因而选择在此时重启对其海外成果的探讨无疑是迫切且极有必要的。本文即立足于此,试图对海外视阈下《西游记》宗教文化问题的研究进行分析和评论,全文分为四大部分,分别从土壤与媒介:《西游记》译本及其宗教表达;主题的角力:宗教主旨的论战与发微;宗教问题:作为文论批评的重要问题;敢问路在何方:前沿与困境这四个方面来综述和评析目前学界的成果和动向,力求为《西游记》的宗教解读增添新维度。
[Abstract]:The discussion on religious issues began with the completion of the book Journey to the West, which has a rich and complex body and a profound meaning. The far-reaching monumental system takes Xuanzang's book as its source, and has a strong religious color on the subject.Despite a hundred years of constant discussion and debate on the religious tenets of the "Journey to the West", it is certain that the story of the Journey to the West is not a simple story of gods and demons, but a book full of religious terms, puns, doctrines and fables, shaped by history.The product of the collision of Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism and the three religions.As far as the overseas study of Journey to the West is concerned, its translation and introduction has been nearly 300 years, and it is the first batch of Chinese classical novels to enter the western field of vision, which has a broad audience base and academic foundation.From the overseas research results, Sinologists not only probe into the translation, communication, plot and purport of Journey to the West from the text level, but also analyze the allegory, comedy and pilgrimage themes of the text with the help of the natural advantages of the comparative perspective.A large number of literary criticism works have been formed, in which the study of religious and cultural issues runs through all the time, which can be said to constitute the "western tourism study".However, from the current academic background, most of the above overseas achievements have not been translated into Chinese, and many materials have been lost in obscurity. They have not attracted enough attention in domestic academic circles. On the one hand, the horizontal research of the same kind cannot be perfected and exchanged needs with each other.On the other hand, the current understanding and evaluation of the present academic status and frontier of Journey to the West is not comprehensive and fair, so it is urgent and necessary to choose to restart the discussion of its overseas achievements at this time.Based on this, this paper attempts to analyze and comment on the religious and cultural issues of Journey to the West under the overseas vision. The full text is divided into four parts, from the soil and the media: the translation of Journey to the West and its religious expression;The struggle of theme: the controversy and development of religious purport; religious problem: as an important question of literary criticism; dare to ask the way: the front and the predicament to summarize and evaluate the current academic achievements and trends,Try to add a new dimension to the religious interpretation of Journey to the West.
