【摘要】：本报告是基于笔者对美国作家玛格丽特·克莱文的小说《听见猫头鹰叫我的名字》第一部分的汉译过程而写。《听见猫头鹰叫我的名字》是玛格丽特的代表作之一,讲述了白人教士马克·布莱恩由于身患绝症不久与世而被送往印第安部落,在与当地印第安人生活的日子里,马克对文化的尊重以及为了解他们所做的努力赢得了当地人的认可。笔者所翻译的部分主要讲述的是马克初到印第安部落后的生活状况,以及在印第安人的关心下,逐渐转变了对生活、对死亡的看法。本报告在分析原文文本特点的基础上,以功能对等理论为指导,分别从词、句、篇章三个层面进行案例分析。译者认为,在功能对等理论的指导下,译者从目标读者的角度出发,灵活运用各种翻译策略,使译文更加自然,尽力再现原文的内容和风格,从而实现原文和译文之间最大程度的对等,最终目标是使译文读者拥有与原文读者尽可能相同的感受。在翻译过程中,如何处理非英语词汇和长难句,如何处理文中的修辞以便忠实地再现原文的意义和风格,均是本次翻译实践的难点。为更好解决以上几个方面的问题,笔者查阅了相关书籍和文献,力求在功能对等理论指导下,运用合适的翻译技巧,例如音译、意译、增译、减译以及调整句子结构等方法,实现译文与原文最大程度的对等。通过此次翻译实践,笔者更好的了解了功能对等理论,以及在其指导下如何更好的进行小说翻译。鉴于本材料尚无人翻译,希望该翻译项目能为国内读者提供合适的译文,使其进一步了解神秘的印第安文化。
[Abstract]:This report is based on the translation process of the first part of the American writer Margarit Klein's novel, "hearing owls calling my name." [hearing owls calling my name] is one of Margaret's masterpieces. One. About the white priest Mark Bryan, who was sent to the Indian tribe soon after he was terminally ill, during his life with the native Indians. Mark's respect for culture and his efforts to understand them won recognition from the local people. Under the concern of the Indians, it gradually changed the view of life and death. Based on the analysis of the features of the original text, this report is guided by the theory of functional equivalence, respectively from words and sentences. Under the guidance of functional equivalence theory, the translator thinks that under the guidance of functional equivalence theory, the translator can flexibly use various translation strategies to make the target text more natural from the perspective of the target readers. Try to reproduce the content and style of the original text, so as to achieve the maximum equivalence between the original text and the target text, the ultimate goal is to make the target readers have as much feelings as possible with the original readers. How to deal with non-English words and long difficult sentences and how to deal with the rhetoric in the text in order to faithfully reproduce the meaning and style of the original text are the difficulties in this translation practice. The author reviews relevant books and literature and tries to apply appropriate translation techniques under the guidance of functional equivalence theory, such as transliteration, free translation, incremental translation, subtraction and sentence structure adjustment. Through this translation practice, the author has a better understanding of the functional equivalence theory and how to better carry out the novel translation under its guidance. It is hoped that this translation project will provide a suitable translation for domestic readers to further understand the mysterious Indian culture.
