【摘要】： 在二十世纪的戏剧史上,曹禺和尤金·奥尼尔分别成为中国和美国现代话剧的开创者。宏观上,他们的戏剧美学观相近,在悲剧观念、悲剧人物、戏剧手法上都有相近的追求。具体而言,他们在气质上都是典型的戏剧诗人,从小都饱尝家庭带来的精神创伤,而且两人都是古希腊戏剧的爱好者,还是戏剧大师易卜生的门徒。他们将自己的生命体验融于剧作人物身上,赤裸裸地展现出“人”面临的生存困境以及灵魂的无助和挣扎,不停地追问充斥于宇宙间的永恒命运和神秘力量,执着地书写“人”的永恒悲剧。他们的创作精神体现了戏剧文学发展的共同趋势,由此,他们的剧作也彰显出许多可比性。随着比较文学研究的兴起,越来越多的学者注意到了这两位戏剧大师的关系,并从不同的角度对二者进行比较研究。本文在吸取前人研究成果的基础上,拟采用比较文学中平行研究的方法,以人物比较为基点,进而对曹禺、尤金·奥尼尔的个体生命及精神世界作深入而细致的探寻。为此,本文在统观两位剧作家所有剧作人物形象和特点的基础上,寻找剧作家个人内在的精神冲突之源,把他们笔下的人物分为“成功”型、间色型、诗人型三类进行比较。一方面通过聚焦曹禺与奥尼尔剧作人物的相似点,挖掘出两位剧作家在精神气质方面的相似性,以及通过人物所展现的中美文化交流与沟通;另一方面以奥尼尔剧作人物及他们身上体现出来的文化符码为镜,找出曹禺与其剧作人物在中国乃至世界戏剧文学领域不可替代的民族独创性特征,进而挖掘两位作家所具有的精神、文化差异。
[Abstract]:In 20th century, in the history of drama, Cao Yu and Eugene O'Neill became the pioneers of modern drama in China and the United States, respectively. In particular, they are both typical dramatic poets in temperament, and both of them are lovers of ancient Greek drama. He is also a disciple of the drama master Ibsen. They melt their life experience into the characters of the play, showing naked the plight of "man" and the helplessness and struggle of the soul. Constantly asking the eternal fate and mysterious power of the universe, writing the eternal tragedy of "human" persistently, their creative spirit reflects the common trend of the development of drama literature, thus. Their plays also show a lot of comparability. With the rise of comparative literature, more and more scholars pay attention to the relationship between the two masters and make a comparative study from different angles. Using the method of parallel research in comparative literature, taking the comparison of characters as the basic point, we will explore the individual life and spiritual world of Cao Yu and Eugene O'Neill in depth and detail. Therefore, on the basis of the characters and characteristics of the two dramatists, this paper looks for the source of the personal spiritual conflict of the playwrights, and classifies the characters in their works into "success" type and "intermediate color type". On the one hand, by focusing on the similarities between Cao Yu and O'Neill, we can find out the similarities between the two playwrights in their spiritual temperament. And the cultural exchange and communication between China and the United States through the characters; On the other hand, taking the characters of O'Neill 's plays and their cultural codes as the mirror, we can find out the national originality of Cao Yu and his characters in the field of Chinese and even world drama literature. Then explore the spiritual and cultural differences between the two writers.
