基于语料库的莎士比亚戏剧汉译本中情态的人际意义再现研究

【摘要】： 在当代语言学和文学研究中存在这样一种趋势:即更强调语言的人际的、变化的和可商议的意义。这种趋势说明人们越来越意识到在话语层面研究人际功能的重要性。所谓人际功能,指的是讲话者运用语言参加社会活动的功能。通过这一语言功能,讲话者使自己参与到某一情景语境中,表达其身份、地位、态度等,并试图影响他人的态度或行为。为什么要研究翻译的人际意义?在话语人际功能的诸多研究中,对翻译的研究一直被忽视,专门的系统研究还不多见。从国内来看,人们开始关注翻译的人际意义研究始于系统功能语言学的引进,只有为数不多的学者从事专门研究。目前还没有学者对莎剧的汉译本进行情态人际意义的比较和研究。本论文以Halliday的系统功能语言学为理论依据,对梁实秋和朱生豪两位大师翻译的莎士比亚戏剧汉译本与英语原著的情态的人际意义进行分析,目的是来探讨在莎剧汉译本中的情态的人际意义是如何被再现,再现的方式有哪些。本研究基于上海交通大学外国语学院翻译与词典学研究中心自主开发的莎士比亚戏剧英汉平行语料库,对莎剧原文中体现人际意义的情态,和梁实秋、朱生豪的汉译本中能再现人际意义的情态进行定量和定性分析。研究发现,所选常用情态助动词、情态附加成分和人际隐喻成分在原文中共出现2683次,其中每一千词出现的频率为15.70。在梁实秋译本和朱生豪中译本中,大部分的情态都被成功的再现,其中有少部分情态因作者采取不同的再现方法,使译文与原文在情态的量值和取向上出现不对等。
[Abstract]:There is a tendency in contemporary linguistics and literature to emphasize the interpersonal, changing and negotiable meaning of language. This trend indicates that people are increasingly aware of the importance of studying interpersonal function at the discourse level. Interpersonal function refers to the speaker's use of language to participate in social activities. Through this language function, the speaker engages himself in the context of a situation, expresses his identity, status, attitude, and so on, and tries to influence the attitude or behavior of others. Why should we study the interpersonal meaning of translation? In many studies of interpersonal function of discourse, translation has been neglected, and systematic studies are rare. At home, the study of interpersonal meaning in translation begins with the introduction of systemic functional linguistics, with only a small number of scholars engaged in specialized studies. At present, no scholars have compared and studied the modal interpersonal meaning of Shakespeare's Chinese translation. Based on Halliday's systemic functional linguistics, this thesis analyzes the interpersonal meaning of the Chinese translation of Shakespeare's plays and the modality of the original English works, which are translated by Liang Shiqiu and Zhu Shenghao. The purpose is to explore how the interpersonal meaning of modality is reproduced and how to reproduce it in the Chinese translation of Shakespeare's play. This study is based on Shakespeare's English and Chinese parallel corpus, developed by the Center of Translation and Dictionary Studies, School of Foreign languages, Shanghai Jiaotong University. Zhu Shenghao's Chinese translation can reproduce the modality of interpersonal meaning for quantitative and qualitative analysis. It was found that the commonly used modal auxiliary verbs, modal add-ons and interpersonal metaphors appeared 2683 times in the original text, and the frequency of each thousand words was 15.70. In Liang Shiqiu's translation and Zhu Shenghao's Chinese translation, most of the moods are reproduced successfully, and a few of them are different from each other in terms of modality value and orientation due to different reproduction methods adopted by the author.
