《魔法王妃》翻译报告

【摘要】:这是一篇关于童话作品Fairest的翻译实践报告。原书作者是曾获得过纽伯瑞儿童文学奖的美国作家盖尔?卡森?乐文(Gail Carson Levine)。该书围绕一个想变漂亮的女孩展开,讲述她魔幻的历险经历,目前尚无中文译本。笔者节选Fairest作为翻译实践的原文,是希望通过自己的翻译实践总结出儿童文学特别是童话的翻译策略,在儿童文学翻译领域做出自己的尝试。不同年龄段的读者对文学作品的诉求各不相同。读者年龄越小,其特殊性越大。所以儿童文学翻译必须考虑儿童读者的认知特点,有针对性地满足他们特殊的阅读需求。这一点正好与接受理论的“以读者为中心”相契合。因此,在翻译过程中,笔者以接受理论为指导,通过分析儿童读者的作用与地位,得出儿童文学翻译的两个首要原则:可读性和趣味性。本报告就是基于笔者自身的翻译实践而做的分析与总结。报告正文由五部分组成。第一部分为引言,介绍翻译背景、目的和意义。第二部分为原文介绍,包括所译章节的主要内容、翻译价值和语言风格。第三部分为翻译过程介绍,包括译前准备、翻译方法和译后审校。第四部分为案例分析。笔者以接受理论的“期待视野”和“读者地位”为指导思想,结合大量翻译实例,从词汇和句子两个层面为儿童文学翻译提供具体方法建议。最后一部分是总结,简述报告的主要成果并指出不足之处。
[Abstract]:This is a practical report on the translation of fairy tale work Fairest. The author of the original book was Gail, an American writer who had won the Newberry Children's Literature Award. Carson? Gail Carson Levine. The book revolves around a girl who wants to be beautiful. There is no Chinese translation of her magical adventures. The author extracts Fairest as the original text of translation practice in the hope of summing up the translation strategies of children's literature especially fairy tales through his own translation practice and making his own attempt in the field of children's literature translation. Readers of different ages have different demands for literary works. The younger the reader, the greater the particularity. Therefore, children's literary translation must take into account the cognitive characteristics of children's readers and meet their special reading needs. This coincides with the reader-centered reception theory. Therefore, in the process of translation, the author, guided by reception theory, analyzes the role and status of children's readers, and concludes two primary principles of children's literary translation: readability and interest. This report is based on the author's own translation practice and the analysis and summary. The body of the report consists of five parts. The first part introduces the background, purpose and significance of translation. The second part is the introduction of the original text, including the main content of the translated chapters, translation value and language style. The third part introduces the translation process, including pre-translation preparation, translation methods and post-translation revision. The fourth part is case analysis. With the guidance of the receptive theory of "expectation vision" and "reader's status" and combining with a large number of translation examples, the author provides concrete suggestions for children's literary translation from the lexical and sentence levels. The last part is a summary, briefly describes the main results of the report and points out shortcomings.
