张爱玲自译作品《金锁记》中的译者主体性探究

【摘要】:译者主体性是翻译研究中的一个重要部分,自翻译研究“文化转向”以来,译者从幕后走到了台前,译者主体性也成为翻译理论研究最热门的课题之一。然而近几年,译者主体性的研究大多集中在他译文本中,自译作为翻译研究中的一种特殊现象,一直没有得到重视,处于理论的边缘,甚至被忽视。目前国内仅有几篇论文及期刊谈及自译现象中译者主体性的发挥,大都浅尝辄止,并不系统深入。在中国文学翻译史上,张爱玲的自译最为典型。从1943年到1971年,她用了28年的时间,四度改写和自译《金锁记》,这一现象在中外翻译史上极其罕见。《金锁记》的自译文本为我们研究译者主体性提供了一个崭新的视角。本文选取了张爱玲《金锁记》的中文本及其自译本作为研究对象,采用对比分析的方法,探讨了张爱玲在自译《金锁记》过程中译者主观能动性的发挥及其制约因素。作者认为,相较于他译者,无论是在对译本的选择,还是文化现象的翻译中,身兼原作作者和译者双重身份的张爱玲拥有着对原文本更大的自由和主宰权。张爱玲主要采用了异化的自译策略。直译,音译,直译加注释,是她常用的翻译手法,借以保存和弘扬中国传统文化和文学。张爱玲不厌其烦地对中国文化的诠释以及作为女性所独有的细腻创作风格均凸显了张爱玲自译的特色。在此基础上,作者也对《金锁记》目的语读者反响不佳的原因进行了探究,并得出结论:张爱玲英译《金锁记》是完全充分的自译,并不是她随意地改写及双语创作,而是一项创造性的自译。本论文将为未来自译译者主体性研究,自译和他译文本对比分析及张爱玲自译实践研究提供一定的启示。
[Abstract]:The subjectivity of the translator is an important part of translation studies. Since the "cultural turn" in translation studies, the translator has moved from behind the scenes to the front stage, and the subjectivity of the translator has also become one of the hottest topics in the study of translation theory. However, in recent years, the study of the translator's subjectivity has mostly focused on his translation texts. As a special phenomenon in translation studies, self-translation has not been paid attention to, is on the edge of theory, or even ignored. At present, only a few papers and periodicals talk about the translator's subjectivity in the phenomenon of self-translation. In the history of Chinese literary translation, Zhang Ailing's self-translation is the most typical. From 1943 to 1971, it took her 28 years to rewrite and self-translate the Book of the Golden Lock four times. This phenomenon is extremely rare in the history of Chinese and foreign translation. The self-translation of the Book of Golden Lock provides a new perspective for us to study the translator's subjectivity. This paper selects the Chinese text and its self-translation of Zhang Ailing's Golden Lock as the research object, and discusses the exertion of the translator's subjective initiative and its restrictive factors in the process of translating the Golden Lock by using the method of comparative analysis. The author argues that, compared with his translator, whether in the choice of the translation or in the translation of cultural phenomena, Zhang Ailing, who is the author and translator of the original, has greater freedom and dominance over the original text. Zhang Ailing mainly adopts the strategy of self-translation of dissimilation. Literal translation, transliteration, literal translation and annotation are her usual translation techniques to preserve and promote traditional Chinese culture and literature. Zhang Ailing's painstaking interpretation of Chinese culture, as well as her unique delicate writing style as a woman, highlight the features of Zhang Ailing's self-translation. On this basis, the author also explores the reasons for the poor response of the target language readers of the book, and concludes that Zhang Ailing's English translation of the book is fully self-translated, rather than her random rewriting and bilingual creation. It is a creative self-translation. This thesis will provide some enlightenment for the future study of self-translation translator's subjectivity, the contrastive analysis of self-translation and his translation, and the practical study of Zhang Ailing's self-translation.
