基于语料库的儿童文学翻译语言研究

【摘要】: 自晚清儿童文学翻译开始以来,外国儿童文学的译介为我国提供了大量的优秀作品。20世纪80年代以来,儿童文学翻译蓬勃发展,但是翻译质量却是良莠不齐。与儿童文学翻译迅猛发展形成鲜明对比的是儿童文学翻译研究的相对匮乏和落后,存在很大的局限性,鲜有儿童文学翻译语言方面具体深入的研究。鉴于儿童读者阅读水平和接受能力相对较低,6-12岁的儿童正处于母语学习和完善阶段,规范翻译语言,净化儿童文学语言环境是非常必要的。 该研究顺应当代翻译研究的发展趋势,以汉语(目的语)为导向,自建小型儿童文学(6-12岁)翻译语料库,使用语料库语言学的工具和方法,通过对比英译汉儿童文学和原创儿童文学的语言,对儿童文学的翻译语言及其特点进行描述,解释和分析;并在此基础上对翻译质量进行评估,对比个体译文的优劣,进而离析出其中的不足和缺点。 该研究发现,儿童文学翻译文本的词汇密度较低,翻译语言在实词使用上存在简化的倾向,虽然动词和名词的使用比例较之于原创儿童文学作品偏低,但是多选用常用的、具体的上义词,少用包含文化内涵的成语或习语;介词使用比例高于原创文本,尤其是人称代词的使用更加明显,体现了翻译文本在词汇层面的欧化倾向,同时造成了语言的拖沓、冗繁、有歧义,、背离了儿童文学语言简明清新的特点;口语化特点呈现出弱化的趋势,主要表现为语气词、拟声词使用频率偏低,使语言略显正式,不太符合儿童语言特点;平均句长长于原创文本,同时连词和长定语大量使用,呈现出句法层面的欧化,句子冗长,不简洁,易给儿童阅读造成障碍;被动句的翻译背离翻译文本规范化的趋势,英语中的被动式结构大多采用汉语的“被”字句对应翻译,不但语言形式单一,而且有语言不规范的嫌疑,不利于儿童的母语习得。以上发现表明儿童文学翻译中的确存在一些语言欧化和不规范现象,不利于儿童阅读和母语习得,在今后的翻译中需要提起注意。
[Abstract]:Since the beginning of children's literature translation in the late Qing Dynasty, the translation of foreign children's literature has provided China with a large number of excellent works. Since the 1980s, children's literature translation has flourished, but the quality of translation has been mixed. In contrast to the rapid development of children's literature translation, the study of children's literature translation is relatively scarce and backward, which has great limitations, and there are few in-depth studies on the translation language of children's literature. In view of the relatively low reading level and receptive ability of children, children aged 6-12 are in the stage of learning and perfecting their mother tongue, so it is necessary to standardize the translation language and purify the language environment of children's literature. In accordance with the trend of contemporary translation studies, the study builds a small children's literature (6-12 years old) translation corpus, using the tools and methods of corpus-based linguistics, with Chinese (target language) as its orientation. By comparing the languages of children's literature between English and Chinese and original children's literature, this paper describes, explains and analyzes the translation language and its characteristics of children's literature, and then evaluates the quality of translation to compare the merits and demerits of individual translations. Then the shortcomings and shortcomings of them are isolated. The study found that the lexical density of children's literature translation text is low, and the translation language tends to simplify the use of notional words. Although the proportion of verbs and nouns used is lower than that in original children's literature works, they are often used. Specific upper semantic words are less used than idioms or idioms with cultural connotations, prepositions are used more frequently than original texts, especially the use of personal pronouns is more obvious, which reflects the Europeanization tendency of the translated texts at the lexical level. At the same time, it causes language procrastination, redundancy, ambiguity, deviates from the concise and fresh features of children's literature language, and the colloquial features show a tendency of weakening, mainly manifested as mood words, the use of onomatopoeia words is low, which makes the language slightly more formal. The average sentence length is longer than the original text, and the conjunction and long attribute are used extensively, showing the Europeanization of the syntactic level, the sentence is long and not concise, and it is easy to cause the obstacle to the children to read. The translation of passive sentences deviates from the trend of standardization of the translated text. The passive structures in English are mostly translated by the corresponding translation of the "be" sentence in Chinese. It is not only a single language form, but also a suspicion of language non-standard, which is not conducive to the acquisition of children's mother tongue. The above findings suggest that there are some Europeanization and nonstandard phenomena in children's literature translation which are not conducive to children's reading and mother tongue acquisition. Therefore attention should be paid to the translation of children's literature in the future.
