[Abstract]:The Guangzhou Municipal School of Fine Arts, founded in 1922, was the first public art professional school in South China. Until the outbreak of the War of Resistance against Japan in 1937, it was forced to close. After 17 years of school history, there was a steady tide of high schools, and five principals presided over the school, among which there were many controversies. Now little-known is Li Jinfa, the last principal (1900-1976). Li was a famous symbolist poet and sculptor in the Republic of China. He took up his duties as principal of the city in 1936. During his two years in office, Li's administration measures, such as the expansion of school buildings and the layout of personnel, led to a lot of dissatisfaction and even teachers' dismissal, and students stopped classes, and in the end they also bore the notoriety of "dereliction of leadership and disintegration of their alma mater." After the 1940s, Li's career in literature and art, especially his many measures in the field of modern art education, gradually became unknown. This period of history is intricate but fascinating. The author intends to focus on this point of view. This paper tries to recreate the historical features of the last two years of the city and the United States under the leadership of Li and to take this opportunity to see one of the leopards of the art education ecology in South China in the early period of the War of Resistance against Japan.
