从语域分析的角度看《卖花女》中人物语言的风格再现

【摘要】: 人物语言是文学作品中重要的组成部分。人物语言的高度个性化,在刻画人物性格,推动剧情的发展,娱乐大众以及再现作者及其作品中的人物语言的风格中,起着不可或缺的作用。《卖花女》就是一部人物语言极具个性化的戏剧,因此成功地塑造了独具个性栩栩如生的人物形象。 不少关于风格再现的论述贯穿了整个翻译研究的历史。风格再现是否恰当关系到翻译的成功与否。对于风格再现的研究正是翻译理论研究以及实践的集中的体现。至于风格的定义,自从风格出现以来,就存在着不一致的意见。本文在《卖花女》人物语言的基础上,试着从风格再现着手,对两中文译本展开了对比研究,其中一译本是由杨宪益先生翻译,另一译本则出自林语堂先生之手。 对原作的风格再现是一项艰巨而又富有挑战性的任务,因此我们不得不诉诸于语言学方面的理论,确切地说,语域理论。语域是由三个变量构成,亦即语场,语旨以及语式。为了再现原作的风格,必须达到语域对等,即达到语场,语旨,语式方面的对等。 本文的创新之处在于尝试从相对新颖的角度对《卖花女》的两中文译本进行对比研究,探求语域理论运用到人物语言风格再现的必要性以及可行性。本文选择《卖花女》作为研究的目标并从中选择了典型的人物语言的例子进行分析。作者意在证明语域理论在翻译研究,特别是风格再现中具有实际的价值。
[Abstract]:Character language is an important part of literary works. The high degree of individualization of the character language, in depicting the character of the character, promoting the development of the plot, entertaining the public and reproducing the style of the character language in the author and his works, It plays an indispensable role. Flower seller is a drama with very individualized character language, so it successfully portrays a lifelike character image with unique personality. Many discourses on style reproduction run through the whole history of translation studies. The appropriateness of style reproduction is related to the success of translation. The study of style reproduction is the embodiment of translation theory and practice. As for the definition of style, since the emergence of style, there has been disagreement. On the basis of the character language of the Flower seller, this paper tries to make a contrastive study of the two Chinese translations from the perspective of style reproduction, one of which is translated by Mr. Yang Xianyi and the other by Mr. Lin Yutang. The style reproduction of the original work is a difficult and challenging task, so we have to resort to linguistic theory, to be exact, register theory. Register is composed of three variables, namely, field, tenor and form. In order to reproduce the style of the original work, it is necessary to achieve register equivalence, that is, the equivalence of field, tenor and form. The innovation of this paper is to try to make a comparative study of the two Chinese versions of Flower Girl from a relatively novel point of view, and to explore the necessity and feasibility of applying register theory to the reproduction of characters' language style. In this paper, Flower seller is selected as the goal of the study and a typical example of character language is selected for analysis. The author intends to prove that register theory is of practical value in translation studies, especially in style reproduction.
