《活着》英译本中文化专有项的翻译研究

《活着》是当代中国作家余华的一部长篇小说,出版后广受好评,获奖众多,更被翻译成法文、意大利文、日文、韩文和英文等版本在多国发行,是我国本土文化成功向外输出的标志。该小说具有浓厚的乡土气息和地方特色,富含着许多文化专有项,因此这些文化专有项的翻译就成为译者能否很好地向目的语读者传达原文中中国文化信息的关键因素之一。苏珊·巴斯奈特曾发表《翻译、历史与文化》一书,在该书中她介绍了文化翻译理论的主要内容,提出了文化功能对等,为文学作品中文化因素的翻译提供了新的思路,同时她也是第一个提出翻译研究应走“文化转向”的人。文化功能对等作为文化翻译理论中的一项重要内容,能够为很多文学作品中文化因素的翻译研究提供评价标准,在《活着》的英译本中,译者白睿文在翻译文化专有项时采用了不同的翻译策略,所以本文用巴斯奈特文化翻译观中的文化功能对等作为译文的评价标准,通过对264个文化专有项的分析,试图探讨译者在翻译《活着》中文化专有项时使用了哪些翻译策略,这些文化专有项的翻译在多大程度上实现了与原文的文化功能对等,以及影响译者选择翻译策略的因素有哪些。本文得出以下结论:1.在翻译《活着》中文化专有项时,译者白睿文对...
