本翻译报告原文选自美国作家艾米莉·张(Emily Chang)的《男性乌托邦——摧毁硅谷男性俱乐部》(Brotopia:Breaking Up the Boy’s Club in Silicon Valley)。原作是一部讨论硅谷风投行业女性遭受性别歧视及性骚扰的非虚构作品,由英国企鹅出版社于2018年2月出版。据译者调查,目前国内尚无中文译本出版或发表。原文列举了女性在职场面临的种种困境,并以具体案例讲述受害女性的反击以及得到的结果,激励女性勇敢发声保护自己。原文中大量科技公司名称各有特点,给译者的翻译造成了一些困难。同时,在揭露硅谷黑暗面的过程中,作者运用较大篇幅进行性骚扰场景重现,译者必须仔细斟酌用词以求达到最为相近的表达效果。基于上述困难,译者采用了斯波伯(Dan Sperber)和威尔逊(Deirdre Wilson)的关联理论为指导,探讨适当的翻译方法。在关联理论指导下,译者从公司名称的语音、语义和文化层次出发,通过公司名明示刺激合理推断隐含的交际意图,并根据译出语环境选择适当的翻译方法使译文符合读者期待,同时原文意图与译文读者间达到最佳关联。在构建译文语境时,译者深入分析...
