论《世界文学》（1934-1935）连载翻译小说《白璧得》的翻译风格

中华民国是中国历史上大转变的时期。新文化运动开始后,文学革命倡导者把翻译文学当成文学革命的重要手段,小说翻译具有启发民智,改造社会的作用。伍蠡甫于1934年创办期刊《世界文学》,并由其创办的黎民书局发行,它成为引进国外优秀作品的重要场地。本文选取刊登在《世界文学》期刊上连载的美国作家Sinclair Lewis（辛克莱·刘易斯）的小说Babbitt（《白璧得》）作为个案研究,它于1930年成为美国历史上第一部获得诺贝尔文学奖的作品。该作品描绘了资本主义社会的利益关系。作者用幽默、讽刺的方式描写出了当时地道的美国风貌,讽刺了资产阶级的庸俗,人情淡漠,以及利益关系。原文辞藻华丽,逻辑严谨,各类细节描写甚多。本文主要基于文化学派的描述性翻译研究和文化多元系统理论,从主要社会文化语境、译者的审美观、译者采用的翻译策略以及翻译技巧,探讨《世界文学》洪深和纪泽长译连载翻译小说《白璧得》中的翻译风格。译者对文化负载词、修辞手法,和语言的处理方法上均采用归化翻译与异化翻译相结合,并大量采用音译和直接誊写专有词汇,正反译联合使用,逐字译和意译交叉使用,补充原文隐含的内容以及删除部分内容的翻译处理方法。译...
