闵福德《聊斋志异》英译本中的“非东方主义”形象构建

东方主义的形成,最早可以追溯到古希腊时代东西方的冲突与对立。在17、18世纪,中国的哲学和文化影响着西方的启蒙运动,但随着西方工业的发展,西方开始用殖民者的眼光看待亚洲、非洲乃至整个东方,逐渐形成了东方是落后的、专制的、不科学的“想象”,并通过文学翻译的形式向西方构建了无数“异域”东方的愚昧无知、刻板守旧等负面形象。传教士郭实腊通过跨文化操纵的方式将《聊斋志异》译介成一种“异教信仰”,大幅改写原文情节和主旨,具有鲜明的东方主义色彩。而英国汉学家闵福德秉持着拿出“最好的中国”翻译理念,在研究中浸入认知中国的情感体验及中国文化的价值认同,使其《聊斋志异》英译本的非东方主义特点成为读者接受度高、形象构建贴合原文主旨的关键因素。本文以赛义德东方主义理论为基础,以闵福德《聊斋志异》英译本为分析文本,通过举例分析,发掘非东方主义特点在翻译研究的作用和影响。具体研究问题如下:1、非东方主义观点在闵福德英译本研究中是否具有可行性?2、闵福德《聊斋志异》英译本在形象构建、诗词歌赋、注释和文言文理解方面如何体现非东方主义特点?3、东方主义对当代中国文化建设、增强文化自信有何重要意义?基于以上三个研究问题,...
