【摘要】：泰戈尔是印度著名诗人、作家、艺术家和社会活动家。1913泰戈尔凭借英文版的《吉檀迦利》(又名《牲之颂》)获得了诺贝尔文学奖,是首位获得诺贝尔文学奖的亚洲人。这本充满哲理的宗教抒情诗引起了许多翻译工作者的关注。冰心是中国著名诗人、现代作家、翻译家、儿童文学作家、社会活动家和散文家。她所翻译的版本在众多的《吉檀迦利》翻译版本中因其清新秀丽的语言被奉为经典作品,深受读者喜爱,一直流传下来。翻译学文化学派代表学者安德烈·勒弗菲尔(Andre Lefevere)认为,意识形态(ideology)、诗学观(poetics)以及赞助人(patronage)三大因素对于译者具有深远影响,直接作用于他们的翻译选材、翻译方法以及翻译目的。勒菲弗尔认为,意识形态是指译者在翻译中所采用的基本策略和对原始文本话语表达问题的解决办法(对象、概念、风俗)和最初的语言表达本身。本文以勒菲弗尔操控理论下的意识形态为理论基础,通过对比分析冰心和泰戈尔所生活的年代的社会背景和教育背景,从有意识误译和无意识误译两个方面进行分析,探讨冰心翻译的泰戈尔诗歌《吉檀迦利》中的误读与误译。该论文拟回答以下问题：1.社会意识和个人意识是如何影响译者翻译的；2.误读、误译与翻译的关系；3.冰心译本中出现的误译可以接受吗?正是因为她的翻译中出现一些创造性翻译,她的翻译版本才留给读者深刻的印象。本文主要采用定性的研究方法,在对原作者与译者的社会背景与教育背景分析后,对比英文版的《吉檀迦利》与冰心翻译的中文版《吉檀迦利》。研究发现,泰戈尔和冰心不同的社会背景和教育背景是造成不同意识形态、误读与误译的主要原因,不同的意识形态影响译者的误读和误译,误读与误译在文学翻译中是很常见的现象,而有的误译是译者有意识的创造性翻译,反而能使读者印象深刻。由于本文作者不懂孟加拉语,不能对孟加拉语版的《吉檀迦利》和泰戈尔自己翻译英文版进行对比研究,对于泰戈尔自己的英文翻译版本是否存在误译不得而知。若此,冰心在翻译过程中出现误读、误译也是情理之中的事。
