关联理论视角下《蛙》中隐喻的英译方法研究

　　本文旨在以关联理论为视角,探究《蛙》中隐喻的英译方法。自亚里士多德以来,隐喻一直是学者们研究的热门课题,而文学作品中的隐喻又蕴含着丰富的文化背景知识,传达复杂的内涵意义。因此,如何有效地翻译隐喻、成功地传递出蕴含意义是隐喻翻译面临的一大难题。Sperber和Wilson提出的关联理论指出,交际成功的本质在于认知与推理,为隐喻翻译提供了新的视角。本文以莫言的小说《蛙》中的隐喻为例,通过对比原文与译文文本,发现葛浩文(Howard Goldblatt)采用了四种隐喻翻译方法:保留映射、转化映射、删除映射及创造映射。继而从关联理论出发,利用实例分析的研究方法,阐述了葛浩文应用这些隐喻翻译方法达到的效果。葛浩文通过保留映射和转化映射的隐喻翻译方法,成功向目的语读者传递出了充足的语境效果;通过删除映射,实现了成功的交际,但是导致了隐喻诗学效果的缺失,无法向目的语读者传递出充分的语境效果;通过创造映射,既再现了隐喻的语境效果,又向目的语读者传播了中国文化。最后,笔者从关联理论出发,深入探析了葛浩文采取上述隐喻翻译方法的原因。成功获取最佳关联是葛浩文翻译隐喻的前提条件。目的语读者与源语读者认知语境的...
