从功能翻译理论视角研究《飘》中译本

【摘要】：在翻译传统中,译者通常被认为是隐形的因为他必须完全客观地表达原作的意义,价值和风格。与科技翻译不同,文学翻译不仅要传达字面意思,还要展现作者的风格并给目标语读者带来源语言读者读原作时的美学体验。因此,文学翻译需要译者的创造性和目标语读者的定位。由于不同的国家有不同的文化,翻译就应该起到沟通和传递文化的功用。基于这个理论,在上世纪70年代末,德国语言学家威密尔提出了目的论。该理论为翻译界提供了功能与社会文化观念。目的论强调译者是为读者服务的,翻译策略的选择也取决于目标语读者。读者的阅读目的各有不同,同样的翻译作品不可能满足不同读者的不同需要。本文作者试图将目的论应用到傅东华的汉译本《飘》上,借此解读功能翻译理论。借助于德国的功能派翻译理论,我们得以从一个新的视角来仔细解读傅东华的译作。本文的目的在于分析傅东华的译作《飘》,包括他的目的,翻译策略和影响因素,以便倡导一种文学作品翻译上更为科学、有序的功能翻译手段。希望本文能为文学翻译研究略尽绵薄之力。
