【摘要】：《天桥》(The Bridge of Heaven)是江西南昌作家熊式一先生于英国游学期间用英文创作的小说,在英国出版时曾引起巨大轰动,被多次重印出版以及译成多国语言。熊式一先生当时在英国的名声相当于林语堂先生在美国的名声。然而由于某种原因,该小说在大陆未得到足够的重视,因此对该小说的创作及翻译问题的探讨显得颇为重要。胡庚申教授在2003年首次提出生态翻译学这一概念,作为一门将翻译学与生态学结合的跨学科研究,该理论认为翻译问题的研究,是可以利用自然科学的理论来研究说明的,尤其是他提出的翻译适应选择论,可以从适应和选择的角度解释现实生活中普遍存在的翻译活动和过程,尤其可以在文学翻译中得到广泛地运用。本文从生态翻译学角度出发,以胡庚申的生态翻译学理论做为理论指导,具体采用理论与文本分析相结合的方法,对熊式一的小说《天桥》及其自译文本进行对比研究。因此,文章从“内部需要”、“外部需要”、“译者能力”三个方面探讨了译者对生态环境的适应;并且从“语言维”、“文化维”两方面维度分析了译者是如何积极地做出适应性的选择,并详细讨论了语言风格、形式、修辞、文化负载词等的选择和转换。论文认为,熊式一在自译《天桥》时做出了积极正面的适应与选择,且翻译策略各具特色,值得译者探讨学习;其次,论文验证了生态翻译学的指导意义和实用性:生态翻译学对翻译实践特别是文学翻译具有可操作性和解释力。
