[Abstract]:Sherwood Anderson (1876-1941) is a writer who has made outstanding contributions to American literature. His literary thought and his works greatly influenced many famous literary writers such as William Faulkner Ernest Hemingway and Thomas Woolf. At the same time, it has attracted the future generations to improve his research. The 1919 publication of the small Town Man is Anderson's most representative work. In this book, Anderson not only vividly shows the life picture of a group of "abnormal people" in American society, but also presents his unique creative skills and profound ideological connotation. Therefore, Anderson and his small town teratons occupy a unique position in the history of American literature. As a writer of great humanistic concern, Anderson felt the loneliness and depression of modern people so deeply that he insisted on exploring the theme of "the loss of love" in his works, and as an explorer of the spiritual world, Anderson's creation is always directed at the soul of the characters and goes deep into his inner world. This work vividly reflects Anderson's exploration of the theme of "the loss of Love" and the exploration of the human spiritual world. Anderson also reveals the spiritual pain and the increasingly distorted human nature caused by the invasion of industrial civilization. This paper takes the theme of "lost of Love" as the central point, and makes an in-depth analysis of the figure of the abnormal crowd in the small Town teratology. In this paper, nine typical short stories are selected as the main analysis object, and the theme of "the loss of Love" in "the small Town Tertists" is deeply explained and studied by the method of reading the text carefully. The structure of the thesis is as follows: firstly, the introduction gives a general introduction to Sherwood Anderson and his works, and combs the research results of Anderson and his works at home and abroad. The first chapter introduces the background of the theme of "lost of Love" and explores the era of theme writing. The analysis of the social background is intended to reveal that Anderson is in an era of prosperity of industrialization and coldness of social environment. The second chapter analyzes and explains the meaning and embodiment of the theme of "lost of Love". Based on the detailed analysis of the typical image of the abnormal person, this paper explores the meaning of the theme of "the loss of love", that is, the lack of love and its concrete embodiment in the life of the small town. The third chapter focuses on explaining the deep embodiment of the suffering and distortion of the human spiritual world reflected by the theme of "the loss of Love", and the exploration of the theme rises to the spiritual level. Through the analysis of typical abnormal crowd images, this paper reveals the spiritual appeal conveyed by the theme of "the loss of love" and reveals the soul depression and spiritual loneliness suffered by human beings. Finally, the conclusion summarizes the thesis and puts forward the author's understanding and reflection on the theme of "loss of Love".
