[Abstract]:Navarre Scott Momarty (Navarre Scott Momaday,1934-) is a pioneer of American Indian writers who has made great achievements in novels, poetry and painting. (HouseMade of Dawn) is one of his important masterpieces. It is also the first novel by an American Indian writer and won a Pulitzer Prize. Since its publication in 1968, the work has received extensive attention and been analyzed from various angles, mostly discussing the living conditions and cultural heritage of the indigenous people. Today, when the global ecological crisis is becoming more and more serious, some scholars try to interpret it from the perspective of ecology in order to find out the ecological and cultural connotation of the novel, but it is not thorough and comprehensive enough. This paper also analyzes "House of Dawn" from the perspective of ecology, and further reveals its complex interracial entanglements about man, nature and race, in order to highlight the deep ecological wisdom of American Indians. This paper attempts to explain this work from the perspective of ecological holism. Firstly, by analyzing the religious belief, oral culture and ecological environment of American Indians, this paper reveals the concept of harmony between man and nature in American Indian culture. Secondly, this paper tries to discover the concept of racial harmony in American Indian culture. Although different values lead to the conflict between white people and American Indians, the fact that they are easy to get along with reveals the idea of racial harmony pursued by Mormarty, which conveys ecological holism and covers the idea of racial harmony. Because the harmony among races is closely related to the harmony between man and nature, that is, the harmony between man and nature is conducive to the maintenance of harmony between man and nature, and vice versa. Finally, this paper discusses the protagonist (Abel) 's experience of returning to nature in order to reveal that nature is not only the physical survival home of human beings, but also the spiritual homeland of human beings. Abel is far from his native land, away from nature, and becomes lost and lost. But in the end, to the society where man and nature, man and man live in harmony, to their original way of life, the spiritual torment is healed. In short, by analyzing the concept of harmonious coexistence between man and nature and racial harmony in this novel, this paper aims to show that man is a part of nature, and the harmony between man and nature is inseparable from the harmony between race, and the two need to promote each other. Through Mormarty's House of Dawn, this paper outlines the unity of man and nature in harmony.
