《小镇畸人》中畸形人物探究

【摘要】：舍伍德·安德森被威廉姆福克纳誉为“美国当代作家之父”,而安德森的杰作《小镇畸人》更是被誉为一部“一流的心理学文献”和一部“关于美国异化的寓言”。通过作者敏锐的洞察力和杰出的写作手法,安德森深刻的揭示了一群处在美国转型时期的“畸人”的内心世界。通过二十五个短小的故事,《小镇畸人》形象地描述了这些“畸人”的生存状态。由于理解和爱的缺失、现实社会与他们理想之间存在的鸿沟,以及梦想的幻灭,这些“畸人”的灵魂大都扭曲。在描述“畸人”时,作者并非仅停留于他们生理缺陷,而是透过他们畸形的外表直指他们扭曲的内心。从“畸人”的外表看,他们的畸形主要通过他们异于常人的手和眼睛表现出来。而在这群“畸人”的内心深处,他们更是承受着各种各样心理疾病的折磨。在《小镇畸人》中,安德森形象地描述了他们的内心活动以及他们对爱和理解的强烈渴望。这篇论文运用新批评理论和文化理论来研究《小镇畸人》这部作品,并探究了这部作品中“畸形”的美学和文化意义。该论文由三章构成。第一章简单介绍了这部小说发生的社会背景和历史背景,重点介绍了美国内战和工业革命对美国人民的影响。第二章集中论述了畸人外表和内心的扭曲表现。他们外表的畸形是他们内心扭曲的体现,而他们的心理扭曲导致他们异于常人的行为举止。第三章阐述了造成他们“畸形”的原因。原因是多种多样的,不仅仅根源于他们不堪回首的往事以及他们对梦想的过分执着,也与社会的转型以及文化的缺失有很大关系。
[Abstract]:Sherwood Anderson is praised by William Faulkner as the father of contemporary American writers, and Anderson's masterpiece, "the malformation of small towns", is also known as a "first-rate psychological literature" and a "fable about American alienation". Through the author's keen insight and outstanding writing techniques, Anderson profoundly reveals the inner world of a group of "abnormal people" in the transitional period of the United States. Based on 25 short stories, the "small Town Terror" vividly describes the living conditions of these "odontists". Due to the lack of understanding and love, the gap between the real society and their ideals, and the disillusionment of their dreams, the souls of these abnormal people are mostly distorted. In describing "malformed people", the authors do not only dwell on their physical defects, but point to their distorted hearts through their deformed appearance. From their appearance, their deformities are manifested mainly through their unusual hands and eyes. In the heart of this group, they are suffering from all kinds of psychological diseases. Anderson vividly describes their inner activities and their strong desire for love and understanding. This paper uses the new critical theory and the cultural theory to study the novel "the malformed people in small towns", and explores the aesthetic and cultural significance of the "deformity" in the novel. The paper consists of three chapters. The first chapter briefly introduces the social and historical background of the novel, focusing on the American Civil War and the impact of the Industrial Revolution on the American people. The second chapter focuses on the distorted appearance and inner expression. Their physical deformities are a reflection of their inner distortion, which leads them to behave differently. The third chapter explains the causes of their deformities. The reasons are diverse, not only because of their unthinkable past events and their excessive attachment to dreams, but also because of the transformation of society and the lack of culture.
