【摘要】：弗·司各特·菲茨杰拉德被公认为是美国20世纪最伟大的作家之一。他的三部小说，《美与孽》、《了不起的盖茨比》和《夜色温柔》，让他当之无愧地成为了美国爵士乐时代的代言者之一。作为美国“迷茫的一代”的代表作家之一，他的短篇小说和长篇小说都描述了身处乱世之中，青年男女的理想，希望和幻灭。《美与孽》、《了不起的盖茨比》和《夜色温柔》三部作品无一例外地都将失败、阶级与金钱对人道德的腐蚀作为主题。尽管在发表之初，他的作品并没有得到广泛的肯定。但是时间终于给予他的作品公正的评价，菲茨杰拉德以他独有的洞察力和视角，使得自己的作品成为美国乃至世界文学史上不可多得的瑰宝之一。本论文主要由三大章节组成。每一个章节试图指出小说中人物的金钱观、社会价值观和爱情观是最终导致爱情失败的根本原因，分析揭示了阶级偏见和财富对道德和人性的腐蚀。安东尼和格洛里亚都来自于富裕的家庭，所以有着相似的价值观和生活方式。他们两个整日穿梭于舞会和酒会之间，追求所谓的不受束缚的自由生活，直至被安东尼的祖父从遗嘱上除名。失去经济来源的他们很快像枯萎的鲜花，了无生趣。虽然最后赢了遗嘱官司，但是他们早已失去了原先的光彩和梦想。盖茨比和黛茜的恋爱和分手本是一件很平凡的事情。但是菲茨杰拉德却把黛茜比作金钱、梦想和爱情的象征，盖茨比为了追求她耗尽了自己的才智和情感，最后葬送掉了自己的生命。他天真地以为，只要有了财富，就可以重温旧梦，就可以改写自己的命运。但是在这样一个物质、浅薄、空虚的社会，他注定会走向毁灭，被社会所抛弃。迪克和盖茨比一样，也是上流社会争名逐利的牺牲品。单纯善良如盖茨比，他试图用他真诚的爱来拯救妮可，并通过自我牺牲来治愈上流社会的道德病态。他放弃自己的研究工作，全身心地照顾妮可，把自己完全奉献给了上流社会。但同样，，他也为他的善良无私付出了巨大的代价。在一个拜金主义、贪得无厌的社会中，他势必会遭到上流社会的唾弃。在别人，尤其在妮可的家人看来，他不过是他们雇佣的一个医生而已，一个一旦完成了任务就可以随时打发走的医生。最后迪克孓然一身，在美国一些不知名的小镇中行医了结余生。
[Abstract]:F. Scott Fitzgerald is recognized as one of the greatest American writers in the 20 th century. His three novels, Beauty and iniquity, the Great Gatsby and the Night Tender, made him one of the endorsements of the American jazz age. As one of the representative writers of American "lost Generation", his short stories and novels describe the ideals, hopes and disillusionment of young men and women in troubled times. Beauty and iniquity, the Great Gatsby and the Night Tender all focus on failure, the erosion of morality by class and money. Although at the beginning of his publication, his work was not widely recognized. But time finally gave his works a fair appraisal, and Fitzgerald made his works one of the rare treasures in the history of American and even world literature with his unique insight and perspective. This thesis consists of three chapters. Each chapter attempts to point out that the characters' view of money, social values and love are the fundamental reasons for the failure of love. The analysis reveals the corruptions of class prejudice and wealth to morality and humanity. Anthony and Gloria both come from wealthy families, so they share similar values and lifestyles. They shuttled between the ball and the reception all day, pursuing the so-called unfettered free life until Anthony's grandfather removed him from his will. They lose their financial resources quickly like withered flowers, boring. Although they won the testamentary case, they had already lost their original glory and dream. Gatsby's love and breakup with Daisy was a very ordinary thing. But Fitzgerald likened Daisy to a symbol of money, dreams and love, and Gatsby exhausted his talents and feelings to pursue her and ended up killing her life. He naively thought that with wealth, he could renew his old dreams and rewrite his destiny. But in such a material, shallow, empty society, he is doomed to destruction and abandoned by society. Dick, like Gatsby, was also the victim of an upper-class struggle for fame and profit. Pure goodness, like Gatsby, tried to save Nicole with his sincere love and to heal the moral ills of the upper class through self-sacrifice. He gave up his research and took care of Nicole and devoted himself to the upper class. But he also paid a great price for his kindness and selflessness. In a money-worshiping, insatiable society, he is bound to be spurned by the upper class. To others, and especially to Nicole's family, he was nothing more than a doctor they hired, a doctor who could be sent away as soon as the task was completed. In the end, Dick ended his life practicing medicine in some unknown towns in the United States.
