[Abstract]:Michael Cunningham (1952 -) is a famous contemporary American writer who has won many honors and famous literary circles for his novel "always". "every moment" is about the day of three women in different ages and cities. Seemingly irrelevant, but related by the novel Mrs. Dalloway: Virginia Woolf is working on a new work, Mrs. Dalloway; Laura Brown, the full-time wife, is reading Lady Dalloway; Clarissa Vaughn, the book editor, is called "Mrs. Dalloway" by her friends in real life. This novel, which takes three women as the main line, presents the living conditions of urban women and reflects the dilemma faced by women. "time and hour" has attracted the attention of many experts and scholars at home and abroad. They have studied the novel from different angles, but few of them have systematically analyzed the work with space theory. The spatial angle not only coincides with the research hotspots in various fields, but also provides a new way of thinking for the study of "all the time". This thesis will be based on the views of Henry Lefevere, Michel Foucault and Edward Sawyer, the three representatives of space theory. It provides a comprehensive theoretical basis for the analysis of the text. This thesis will reveal the living state of the three heroines in the novel from three aspects: physical space, spiritual space and female living space. The spatial images in the novel constitute the main contents of the physical space, but some seemingly ordinary spatial forms reflect the various situations of the characters; The inner ideological activities of the characters constitute their spiritual space, and the description of these psychological activities will be shown in front of the readers, which are hidden in the perplexity of the inner hearts of the characters; Active in the city and the family of women figure, weave the complex female living space. This thesis chooses to use the space theory to interpret the novel "all the time", which can deeply reveal the survival situation of urban women and their mental course in the process of struggle, and then find out the reason why modern people suffer in the space. And how to gain freedom in the confrontation with space. The life track of the three women is the epitome of many modern people's lives. From this point of view, this paper has a certain social significance.
