论《问题的核心》主人公斯考比的悲剧

《问题的核心》是一部具有古典传统的悲剧性作品。格雷厄姆·格林在该书中继承并发展了亚里士多德的悲剧思想。通过斯考比的悲剧,格林深切地表达了他对当代人如何才能在这个表面上看来是无意义的和荒诞的世界上寻求人生意义的思考和探索。 第一章简要介绍了格雷厄姆·格林的生平和创作生涯以及《问题的核心》的情节梗概,综述了格林小说研究成果,并对有关《问题的核心》研究做了简要回顾。 第二章分析了《问题的核心》的悲剧性特质。《问题的核心》的情节和主人公符合亚里士多德的悲剧定义。然而作为一部优秀的悲剧作品,它并未止步于此。在亚里士多德悲剧理论中,“性格”居于次要地位。而格林通过对斯考比性格特点及其心理成因的刻划,引导读者一步步地进入到主人公的心灵深处。 第三章以马丁·布伯的“我——你”哲学为依托,在斯考比的人际关系中探讨其悲剧的成因。斯考比的悲剧性缺陷在于他将世界视为“它”之世界。妻子和情人只是他实现怜悯感和责任感的客体,仆人阿里只是照料他日常生活的工具。斯考比在“它”之世界中看不到自身和他人变化发展的可能性,产生了持续的失败感和疲倦感,因此希望从人与人的交往中解脱出来。斯考比在“我——它”关...
