对拜厄特四部曲的后现代女性主义解读

本文以拜厄特的女性成长小说四部曲《花园里的少女》,《平静的生活》,《巴别塔》,以及《吹口哨的女人》为研究文本,以后现代女性主义理论为支撑,重点研究作品中“女性身份”和“女性形象”的确立过程。四部曲以贯彻始终的知识女性弗雷德里卡为主线,描述了她从少女生活,剑桥求学,结婚生子直到成为单亲母亲和成功的职业女性的经历,同时以其他知识女性为副线,揭示了女性从心理,思想到身体等在不同阶段的蜕变过程,勾勒出一幅以英国二十世纪五六十年代为社会背景的知识女性的生活图景。拜厄特的小说一直都是以知识女性为写作目标,此论文针对这一特点,对文本从后现代女性主义的角度进行剖析,描写了知识女性怎样利用自己头脑推翻传统上夫,父,子权的束缚,在依然由男权当道的社会里拥有女性身份,并且成功树立能够被“看得见”,“听得见”的新女性形象。在此过程中,作者的女性主义意识与观点也有所体现,对于传统婚姻与姐妹情结的质疑,知识对女性生存状态的改善作用的揭示,以及对于开放性结尾运用的多重意义都透露出了作者对于女性问题的反思。同时也不难发现作者对于如何协调女性思想世界与现实的矛盾,怎样实现知识女性对于婚姻,事业,家庭等追求的关注。
