[Abstract]:Jack Welch, former president of GM, was undoubtedly one of the most successful entrepreneurs in recent years. But in 1961, Welch, who had been at GM for less than a year, had the idea of quitting. He was an ordinary engineer at the time. Although his salary was not low, he found the bureaucracy of the company suffocating and the president not appreciating him. The egalitarian pay increase was even more humiliating to him, so he came up with the idea of accepting the offer from the Illinois International Minerals Chemical Corporation. It was his boss, Rubens Gutov.
