中国园林观在英国:从坦普尔说起

【摘要】：17世纪后半叶,英国驻荷兰使节坦普尔在荷兰获取亚洲知识和产品及其信息——这是除耶稣会传教士之外的另一条中国知识和产品西传的路径。来自印度、日本、巴达维亚的一二手知识和产品,也成为坦普尔构思其园林美学观念的素材。中国园林观念进入英国的路径恰与欧洲新教国家荷兰所开辟的全球贸易网络紧密相联,其最早传播路径实为一部"三国志"——日本→荷兰→英国。凭借广博的异域见闻和在知识界的影响力,坦普尔所传播的中国园林艺术观念超越了造园的范畴,触发了17世纪英国的"中国热"并持续影响到英国浪漫主义文学思潮的转向。
[Abstract]:In the second half of the 17th century, the British envoy to the Netherlands, Temple, acquired Asian knowledge and products and their information in the Netherlands, which was a way for Chinese knowledge and products to spread westward in addition to Jesuit missionaries. Knowledge and products from India, Japan and Badawi also served as materials for Temple's conception of garden aesthetics. The path of Chinese garden concept into Britain is closely related to the global trade network opened up by the European Protestant Netherlands, and the earliest way to spread it is actually a "three Kingdoms"-Japan and the Netherlands and Britain. By virtue of his wide knowledge and influence in the intellectual world, Temple's concept of Chinese garden art transcended the scope of gardening, triggered the "China craze" in England in the 17th century and continued to influence the turn of the trend of thought in English Romantic literature.
