读书,收藏,“日知录”和学人影响——论沈从文先生的学术养成

【摘要】：沈从文先生的学者之路经历了曲折多姿的过程。他虽没有接受过正规的体制化学术训练,却通过自我摸索探寻到研治国学的正途:受近代以来古史研究学术新风影响,他自少年起就领悟了地下出土实物与纸上传世文献对勘的读书法,并在长期阅读古籍的过程中,从经史子集扩大到工艺杂著,逐步完成文物研究的知识积累;通过文物的收藏和捐献,他进入了"好古—集古—考古"的传统学术轨辙,也参预到"从个人研究到集团合作"的现代学术序列;他因一贯钟情于"社会百工技艺",受此"无言之美,产生无言之教",最终圈定以物质文化史研究为中心的治学范围;又由于追踪王国维、胡适等国学大师的考证方法,他精于"文史研究与实物相结合",不囿于"以书证书",而是拓殖于"以物证史"的学术新领域,具有学术创造的意义。沈从文先生从文人到学者的转身,使其接榫于中国"学者而兼文人"的大传统,并成为这个传统在现代中国的一道亮丽风景。
[Abstract]:The academic road of Mr. Shen Congwen has experienced many twists and turns. Although he had not received formal institutional academic training, he found the right way to study the state of affairs through self-exploration: influenced by the new style of academic research in ancient history since modern times. Since he was a teenager, he has understood the reading method of the materials unearthed underground and the documents handed down on paper, and in the process of reading the ancient books for a long time, he expanded from a subset of history to a mixture of craftsmanship, and gradually completed the accumulation of knowledge in the study of cultural relics. Through the collection and donation of cultural relics, he entered the traditional academic track of "Haogujiu Archaeology", and also participated in the modern academic sequence of "from individual research to group cooperation". Because of his constant love for "social skills of all kinds of work," he was subjected to the "beauty of silence, resulting in a silent teaching," and finally delineated the scope of scholarship centered on the study of material and cultural history; and because he followed the textual research methods of masters of Chinese studies such as Wang Guowei, Hu Shi, and so on. He is good at combining the study of literature and history with material object, not confined to "certificate with book", but colonized in the new academic field of "history of material evidence", which has the significance of academic creation. Mr. Shen Congwen's turning from literati to scholar made it attach to the great tradition of "scholar and scholar" in China, and it became a beautiful scenery in modern China.
