【摘要】：本课题以面具艺术及其纹样在现代设计中的运用为主要脉络进行研究，面具文化的传承一直也将是一个永远谈不尽的话题，因为它是一个世界性的文化，笔者从面具文化不同时代，不同地域进行较深入的探索归纳，并逐步阐述了面具的视觉纹饰、色彩表达。向我们进一步直观的表述了面具艺术是生活中美的提炼，如同艺术总是在不断的流动，，不断地在运动中向前发展，面具艺术也是一门有着独立的文化内涵和丰富功能的造型艺术，笔者选题的理论意义是剖析面具文化的发展与面具文化所具有的地区性，来诠释面具文化中所独具的文化性质。本研究对当代的装饰艺术和现代设计艺术起着推动的作用，可以改变传统的设计模式，利用面具艺术中的传统纹样，进行归纳和创新，探索面具艺术中象征含义的抽象美，本课题主要是利用中国的面具艺术中抽象和象征性元素与现代设计相结合，给现代的市场经济带来了新视角、更从新的方面看市场经济的发展，面具作为艺术设计中的一个极具表现力的题材，他记载了历史精神、人类的文化感情和历史形态。对面具的造型特点、纹样提炼、寓意解读的深入研究，有助于我们更深层次的发掘传统文化的最高形式意义，也有助于形成具有中国民族特色的设计语言。
