[Abstract]:It has become a new trend for migrant workers to go out of their homes and integrate themselves into the city. But does it have an impact on the consumption of migrant workers in the places where they work? Based on the data of Chinese household income survey (CHIP2013), this paper estimates the influence of family mobility and integration intention on the urban living consumption expenditure of migrant workers by using OLS regression and quantile regression. It is found that the family mobility and the intention of integration significantly improve the consumption level of migrant workers in the city, and there is a significant interactive effect between them, and they are not affected by the level of household consumption. At the same time, the study also confirmed the persistent income hypothesis that income is the main factor affecting peasant workers' household consumption. However, there is a certain substitution effect between the consumption behavior and saving behavior of peasant workers' families and other consumption, such as living consumption and housing, but the substitution effect is not strong. The research has some policy implications, that is to say, it is necessary to effectively solve the problem of persistent migration of migrant workers, especially the persistent migration of families, to expand domestic demand by releasing the demand of migrant workers.
