从功能对等理论的角度分析政府文件的英译

【摘要】：改革开放以来,中国取得了无数辉煌成就,在全球政治经济格局中的重要性日益凸显。在这种背景下,越来越多的政府文件需要翻译成英文。这篇论文基于奈达的功能对等理论,采用纽马克的交际翻译策略及一系列相关翻译技巧,对于《选官与治官》这一政府文件进行汉英翻译实践,并在此基础上对译文进行案例研究,分别从词汇、句法和篇章三个方面,主要对缩略语、数字化标语、政治术语、范畴词、无主句、长句等翻译难点进行了详细的案例分析。通过分析,本文得出如下结论：政府文件的特点决定功能对等可以作为一个很好的指导原则在政府文件的翻译中发挥作用,并提出了一些有助于今后相关的政府文件翻译的发现与建议。
[Abstract]:Since the reform and opening up, China has made numerous brilliant achievements, in the global political and economic structure of the importance of increasingly prominent. In this context. More and more government documents need to be translated into English. This paper is based on Nida's functional equivalence theory and adopts Newmark's communicative translation strategy and a series of related translation techniques. On the basis of the practice of Chinese-English translation of the government document "selecting official and ruling official", this paper makes a case study on the translation, mainly from three aspects of vocabulary, syntax and text, mainly on abbreviations and digital slogans. The translation difficulties of political terms, category words, no-subject sentences and long sentences are analyzed in detail. This paper draws the following conclusions: the characteristics of government documents determine that functional equivalence can play a role as a good guiding principle in the translation of government documents. Some suggestions are put forward to help the translation of government documents in the future.
