【摘要】:正植物遗传学家已找到让番茄产量翻倍的方法。虽然大部分人关注的是玉米或番茄的大小和口味,但培育者关心这些植物如何生长。例如能极大地影响果实数量的茎干的分支模式或果实收获的难易程度。对于稻米、大麦和小麦,早期农民会让那些开花的茎能更多地分支,以便每棵植物能产出更多谷粒。然而,番茄的分支仍像其野生的祖先,先有花,随后果实沿着藤末端呈之字形排列。
[Abstract]:Plant genetics has found a way to double tomato production. Although most people are concerned about the size and taste of corn or tomatoes, breeders care about how these plants grow. For example, the branch pattern of stem and trunk, which can greatly affect the number of fruit, or the difficulty of fruit harvest. For rice, barley and wheat, early farmers allowed flowering stems to branch more so that each plant could produce more grains. However, the branches of tomatoes are still like their wild ancestors, with flowers first and then the fruit zigzag along the end of the vine.
