It is also known as impaired glucose regulation and is a necessary stage for the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). At this stage, a number of metabolic indicators have been abnormal, including glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and blood glucose. Blood glucose monitoring has been used as the most routine method to screen diabetes.
