[Abstract]:In the Guangdong dialect of the late Qing Dynasty, the male captives and sellers in the coolie trade were called "piglets", and those women who were trafficked out of the sea in order to serve the "piglets" were called "pig flowers". Their social status and living conditions are often inferior and miserable than piglets. Due to the lack of official records, Pig Flower has been a neglected group for a long time. In fact, they are also participants and witnesses of modern China's forced involvement in the world capitalist system. On the basis of historical data excavated by Keer Hongming and American scholars, using the theory of discrete and social capital, this paper selects three representative "pig flower" color, Fusang and Lulu for case study. Point-to-face presentation of this group's history and the possibility of discrete women's survival.
