[Abstract]:American Revolution (1763-1789) is an important part of American history. The radicalization of the American revolution is a hot topic of debate among historians. But the combination of women's participation and revolutionary tendencies has yielded few results. By putting American women as a social group in the history of American revolution, this paper not only provides a suitable angle of view to understand the changes of women's political and social status, but also is a good entry point for further exploring the connotation of American revolution. While paying attention to the role and status of women in the American revolution, this paper also demonstrates the profound impact of the revolution on women. The main points of this paper are as follows: women have played a positive role in the advancement of the American revolutionary process, and the revolution is a process of breaking through the shackles of traditional social roles and continuously politicizing for women; Although the American revolution has failed to fundamentally change the traditional status of women's subordination, the impact of the revolution has had a series of effects on women that cannot be ignored: first, Women's active participation and contribution make them gradually see their own ability, their self-consciousness is becoming more and more awakened; Second, the revolutionary propaganda and experience has stimulated and trained women's will and ability to express their political rights, which has a profound and long-term impact on women's pursuit of the equal rights of men and women. Third, the revolution made the society pay attention to and reflect on the value of women, taking this as an opportunity to open more educational opportunities to women, which created new possibilities for the transformation of women's roles and status. In a word, women's progress in thought, intelligence and ability is an important manifestation of American revolutionary radicalism.
