多元文化和蒙特利尔华人的融合

加拿大是个多民族国家，又是个移民国家，多元文化主义政策使加拿大实现了各民族之间的和睦相处。多元文化主义认为，在加拿大社会里不同文化背景的人保持各自的文化，互相尊重，和平共处。本文认为多元文化主义促进民族融合，促成和谐社会的建立。本文探讨了多元文化主义政策在蒙特利尔的实施，使蒙城各民族和睦相处，并逐步实现民族融合的过程。本文认为蒙城各民族的融合有两方面的含义：一是各少数民族和移民在经济上逐渐融入蒙城主流社会，二是在共同的社会生活中公众对不同民族间文化差异的认同。因为经济上的融合显示了主流社会对一个民族的认同，而维持和尊重各民族的文化差异则是多元文化主义政策的初衷。本文首先介绍了蒙城历史上的移民和当代移民及其共同发展逐渐融合的过程。然后主要介绍了中国移民在蒙城的发展及民族融合的过程。中国移民在蒙城的经历反映了蒙城各民族融合的全过程：新移民首先进入当地的华人社区，在生活，工作和学习中与其他民族发生千丝万缕的联系，在第二代甚至第三代逐渐摆脱中国的传统文化，接受当地的主流文化，融入蒙城的主流社会生活。本文探讨了多元文化主义政策对加拿大社会民族融合的促进作用。同时也指出了多元文化主义政策自身的不足...
