评价系统视角下《从黎明到衰落》的话语分析

　　雅克·巴尔赞（Jacques Barzun）是美国著名的文化历史学家,在文化史的著述方面有突出贡献。《从黎明到衰落——西方文化生活500年:1500年至今》（以下简称《从黎明到衰落》）是巴尔赞27岁酝酿构思,83岁动笔,直至93岁出版的一部巨著,一经面世颇受好评,荣获美国国家图书奖,被评论界誉为“20世纪的文化圣经”,更是其文化历史观的集中体现。评价系统是对人际意义的新发展,该系统主要研究语言使用者如何借助语言表达对他人及事物的态度、看法并作出评价。评价系统包括三个子系统:态度系统、介入系统和级差系统。评价理论一直被广泛应用于各种类型的语篇分析,如广告、新闻、政治演讲等,然而该理论应用于历史文化类语篇的,仅发现一篇。虽然《从黎明到衰落》是关于文化历史的研究,相对其他文体客观性更强,但它仍然适合用评价理论来分析,因为作者不是简单地提供事实,而是运用各种评价资源为自己发声,并做出判断和评价。本论文以评价系统为理论框架,对巴尔赞的《从黎明到衰落》的评价资源进行分析。本论文按分层随机抽样,从《从黎明到衰落》四部分中各抽取两章节作为语料,共225页,占比28%。运用标注与检索工具BFSU Qua...
