Study about the characteristics of temperaments and feeding behaviors in infants and toddlers with mestal disorder.

【Objective】 To explore the characteristics of temperaments and feeding behaviors in children who were diagnosed with mestal disorders,and provide ideas for clinical intervention measures. 【Methods】 80 children aged from 8 months to 3 years old who were diagnosed with mestal disorder were admitted,and 80 healthy children were involved as control gap.All subjects were evaluated by temperament questionnaire and feeding behavior questionnaire.The chi-square test was used to test the statistical significance. 【Results】 In infants and toddlers with mestal disorder,more difficult and slow warm-up children were found than control(χ2=5.378,P0.05).And their feeding behaviors were different from control,including unfixed feeding time(χ2=25.157,P0.001);unfixed feeding seet(χ2=14.925,P0.001);too frequently meals(χ2=12.333,P0.001);late introduction of solid food(χ2=12.269,P0.001);always refusing new food(χ2=4.902,P0.05)and feeding by grand-parents(χ2=4.514,P0.05). 【Conclusions】 The occurring of mestal disorder in infants and toddlers is obviously related to the temperament and feeding behaviors.Proper clinical interventions should be considered.
