【摘要】：正新四军第三师,是1941年1月15日新四军在盐城重建军部后,由原八路军第五纵队改编而成,黄克诚任师长兼政委,彭雄任参谋长。下辖3个旅,第七旅由原第一支队改编,彭明治任旅长,朱涤新任政委;第八旅由原第二支队编成,田守尧任旅长,吴信泉任政委;第九旅由原第三支队编成,张爱萍任旅长,韦国清任政委。这支部队自1940年秋开辟江苏北部淮海、盐阜根据地以来,在华中局和新四军军部的领导下,在反"扫荡"、反伪化、反蚕食的斗争中,在粉碎顽固派进犯、剿匪叛乱的斗争中,得到人民群众的支持,取得不断的胜利。
