慈禧画像参展万国赛会

【摘要】：正光绪三十年(1904年)三月至十月,美国为了庆贺购买路易斯安那100周年,在圣路易斯城举办了一次万国赛会(即世界博览会),并向清王朝发出了参展邀请。面对这次邀请,慈禧与光绪帝考虑到如果参会,定能缓和大清与西方各国之间的关系,因此态度十分积极,不仅派出高级别的官员作为代表,而且还送去各种展品,其中最为引人瞩目的一件展品,便是慈禧圣容画像。
[Abstract]:To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Louisiana purchase, Guang Xu held a World Exposition in St. Louis City from March to October, 1904, and sent an invitation to the Qing Dynasty. In the face of this invitation, Cixi and Guang Xu considered that if they attended the conference, they would certainly ease the relations between the Qing Dynasty and western countries. Therefore, they took a very positive attitude and sent not only high-level officials as representatives, but also various exhibits. One of the most striking exhibits is the portrait of Cixi's saint.
