【摘要】：正当陈旭麓向钟叔河推荐重版蒋廷黻写于1938年的《中国近代史》时,萦绕在他心头的是蒋廷黻在书中所宣告的那个论断——中国近代以来的根本问题,就是能不能实现近代化;若能,中国是有希望的,若不能,则中国的未来是没有希望的。"近代化"从上世纪三十年代成为知识界一个流行的"热词",到改革开放以后成为若干思想解放运动所呼应的时代主题词,中国学人对它的内涵以及与中国现实关系的理解,经历了若干起伏与变迁。作为建国后一段时期内被当做胡适派资产
