【摘要】：正中国古籍中本没有"博物馆"这一名词,有的只是博物"两字,大意就是见多识广,博识多知。博物馆(museum)一词,源自希腊语的"mou-seion",原义是指供奉掌管艺术、科学的9位缪斯(Muse)女神的神庙。而西方现代意义上的博物馆,则出现于17世纪,以英国牛津市中心博蒙特街上的阿什莫林博物馆的诞生

And the modern western museum, which appeared in the 17th century, was born by the Ashmolin Museum on Beaumont Street in the heart of Oxford, England.
