【摘要】: 本文主要讨论了二十世纪初期基督教新教纪念来华百年的传教士大会上关于建立基督教联合大学的讨论议案,并对议案形成的社会原因、国际背景和议案实践的失败原因进行了分析。本文主要运用了马克思主义历史唯物发展观的方法,结合学术界目前相对认同的中西文化交流的宏观考察方法,对二十世纪初期基督教在华教育发展情况及联合大学的讨论进行考察研究,分析了二十世纪初期中国教会大学发展的客观情况、时代背景以及发展趋势。本文内容主要包括二十世纪初期基督教高等教育在华发展概况、基督教联合大学的讨论议案、联合大学在中国的实践活动、联合大学的时代背景及失败原因等五方面内容。 二十世纪初期基督教在华教育是以基督教在世界范围的宗教扩张与文化传播为背景的,基督教教育事业在华发展固然要受到外界客观环境的影响,但从精神和本质上说,二十世纪初期的在华基督教教育具有独立于政治和差会的特点。这些特点使得教会大学能够成为一个独立而完备的教育实体接纳基督教徒和非基督教徒的学生,并在一定教派达成的共识的情况下,进行合作与联合,发展在华的教育事业,为中国在自然科学和人文社会科学知识的普及与传播做出了贡献。 与官方学堂及中国学制的对比,基督教联合大学的讨论不仅是基督教传教士为了发展在华传教事业而进行的单方面的选择与改革,同时也为中国教育的发展与改革做出了回应与借鉴,从客观上说,是中西文化交流双向选择的结果。
[Abstract]:This paper mainly discusses the beginning of the twentieth Century Protestant memorial to hundred years of Missionary Conference on the establishment of a United Christian University bill, social causes and reasons for the failure of the formation of the motion, the motion of international background and practice are analyzed. This paper mainly uses the method of historical materialism of Marx's outlook on development macroscopic investigation method combined with Chinese and Western cultural exchanges in academic circles at present relatively identity, conducting research on the discussion of Christianity in China Education Development and United University in the early twentieth Century, analyzes the objective situation China Church University Development at the beginning of twentieth Century, the background and development trend. This paper mainly includes the general situation of the development of higher education at the beginning of the twentieth Century Chinese Christian, Christian the University bill, the practice activities of the Joint University in China, combined with the era of the University Five aspects of the background and the cause of failure.
Twentieth Century at the beginning of Christianity in China is based on Christian religious education expansion and culture spread in the world as the background, Christian Education Development in China is affected by the external environment, but the spirit and essence, the early twentieth Century in China Christian education has the independent characteristics of political and difference. These the characteristics that the church university can become an independent and complete educational entities to accept Christian and non Christian students in certain sects and reach consensus, cooperation and joint development, in China's education, as Chinese made contribution in natural science and social science knowledge popularization and dissemination.
Compared with the official school and Chinese system, discuss the Christian Union University is not only the choice and reform of unilateral Christian missionaries in order to develop the mission in China. It is also a response and reference to the reform and development of education China, objectively speaking, is the cultural exchange between the two-way selection results.
