【摘要】：1858年，随着《天津条约》的签订，基督教取得了在中国内地传教的权利，，开始了在中国内地的传播过程。十九世纪末，在西方列强的支持下，地处湖南边陲的湘西开始出现了传教士的身影，自此开始了基督教在湘西的传播。湘西地区作为土家族和苗族等少数民族的聚居地，由于地域上的偏僻和历朝历代统治者实行的打压和民族隔离的政策，使得该地区与外界的沟通和交流极其有限，形成了自成一体有着强烈地域特征的文化体系和宗教信仰体系，因此伴随着殖民侵略而来的基督教在湘西的传播并不顺利，一开始就遭到了湘西民众的排斥，并导致了一系列的政治和文化冲突。进入二十世纪以后，随着国内政治环境的变化，教会调整了传教策略，通过在湘西积极发展医疗卫生事业，开展社会救助等慈善活动，使得基督教在湘西的传播有了一定的发展，尤其是在抗战时期，国民政府的内迁，迎来了湘西基督教发展的一个高潮。解放前夕，随着外国传教士的撤离，宣告了传教士们在近代湘西传教事业的结束。基督教在湘西不到一百年的传播历程中，由于巨大的文化差异，没有也不可能被湘西民众广泛的接受，但期间也对湘西社会的各方产生了一定的影响，有积极的也有消极的。本文以湘西为研究范围，从社会史的角度对近代以来基督新教和天主教在湘西的传播、发展脉络及其对该地区影响进行系统的梳理，使人们对近代基督教在湘西的传播和发展有一个较为整体的了解，并在此基础上，对基督教与湘西的文化冲突及其传播特点做分析研究，力求能够全面、客观地展示基督教在湘西的传播的历史及其影响，以期人们能够以一个理性的态度来对待中西方文化的差异，并为民族地区宗教政策的制定提供参考。
[Abstract]:In 1858, with the signing of the Treaty of Tianjin, Christianity acquired the right to preach in the mainland of China and began the process of spreading in the mainland of China. This makes the communication and communication between the region and the outside world extremely limited, forming a cultural system and religious belief system with strong regional characteristics. With the change of domestic political environment, the church adjusted the missionary strategy, through the active development of medical and health services in Xiangxi, social assistance and other charitable activities, so that the spread of Christianity in Western Hunan has a certain development. Especially during the Anti-Japanese War, the internal migration of the National Government ushered in a climax of the development of Christianity in Western Hunan. On the eve of liberation, with the withdrawal of foreign missionaries. Declared the end of missionaries in modern Xiangxi missionary cause. In this paper, from the perspective of social history, the spread, development and influence of Protestantism and Catholicism in Western Hunan have been systematically reviewed from the perspective of social history. So that people have a relatively comprehensive understanding of the spread and development of modern Christianity in Western Hunan, and on this basis, the cultural conflict between Christianity and Xiangxi and its characteristics of communication are analyzed and studied in order to be able to be comprehensive. This paper objectively shows the history and influence of the spread of Christianity in western Hunan in the hope that people can treat the cultural differences between China and the West in a rational manner and provide reference for the formulation of religious policy in ethnic areas.
