城隍信仰在传统社会中的作用

【摘要】：正在中国历史上,祭祀城隍由来已久。夏商周时期,祭祀水庸就已占有重要地位。唐宋以后,祭祀城隍成为国家和地方祭祀的重要内容。宋明理学兴起之后,城隍庙不仅是道教活动的重要场所,也成为儒家文化的重要载体。与此同时,佛教的六道轮回等思想也融入城隍信仰之中。这样,城隍信仰就逐渐融合了道、儒、释三家思想。城隍神及其职责城隍在早期是以城池为象征的自然神,并无姓名;汉代以后始逐渐成为人格神。数千年来,各地的城隍数不胜数,其中每一位的历史都是一部传奇,每一位都是一座城市的精神寄托和文化标杆。历史上被奉为

After the Tang and Song dynasties, sacrifice to Cheng Huang became an important part of national and local sacrifice.
