党的先进性问题，历来是政党建设的一个极其重要的问题，是我们党的生命所系，力量所在，是党能否得到广大人民群众信任和拥护的根本条件。“青年兴则国家兴，青年强则国家强。”我们党历来高度重视青年，始终把青年看作祖国的未来和民族的希望。毛泽东同志曾生动地把青年比作早晨八、九点钟的太阳，指出青年是整个社会力量中的一部分最积极最有生气的力量。邓小平同志也指出，，青年一代的成长，是我们的事业必定要兴旺发达的希望所在。胡锦涛同志指出：“一个有远见的民族，总是把关注的目光投向青年；一个有远见的政党，总是把青年看作推动历史发展和社会前进的重要力量。我们的民族就是这样的民族，我们的党就是这样的党。”“时代造就青年，青年见证时代，赢得青年，就是赢得未来”。作为青年队伍中的先进青年学生——学生党员则赋有更艰巨而光荣的使命。学生党支部作为高校中党的最基层组织，如何充分发挥其政治核心作用，对于加强班级建设，促进工作制度化、规范性和科学化，增强班集体的向心力、凝聚力和战斗力，具有重要的现实意义。
