It states that how competition level in the market effects export performance. It also states how export performance can be a dependent variable. This also states the relationship between export performance and internet technology and that internet marketing do have a positive impact on the export performance. This article helped establish my dependent variable and some proxy variables. Authors of the article used the data of 381 manufacturing firms involved in exporting. They used questionnaires interviews and rate their variables accordingly and then they run ANOVA table to establish a relationship between internet marketing, marketing competencies and export performance. They established that usage of internet marketing do give a leverage to export performance. This article is basis for my research as it proves the relationship between internet marketing and export performance.


Ikechi Ekeledo and K. Sivakumar – 2004 : This article states the impact of e-commerce for firms to enter in the market and how they give firms a competitive edge. The study also shows how culture, government regulations and tariff and non-tariff barriers hinder or pave the way for trading. These linkages are established through conducting different hypothesis that shows that how level of digitization paves the way for the firms. This also state how level of digitization effects the export performance with other moderating variables. It also discusses the role of e-commerce to enter in the market. From this article I have some moderating and proxy variables which help me establish the relationship with export performance. I found this article very important because it shows that previous researches developed that how some moderating variables are measured.


Amir Ekhlassi and Pedram Toloei – 2010 International conference on e-business : This paper discusses the relationship between e-marketing and market oriented companies and it later evaluate the impact of e-marketing on market orientation. The study states that how a firm or even business to business online transactions can take place through a proper and a secured channel that would eventually lead to profits for the organization. This paper also discusses that weather internet technology gives a competitive edge or does it failed to do so. This paper also states that what kind of business models or policies to be adopted for the consumer satisfaction. This article helped to identify that what type of business models to be used in internet marketing to have a leading edge over others and that how internet markets are different from the traditional markets. This paper basically supports its points through previous studies which are carried out in this field and supports its arguments totally based on those judgements and made some assumptions.


David W. Stewart and Qin Zhao – 2000 : This article discusses that how internet marketing has effected the business models and how marketers are benefited from it and how unsafe measures lead to avoidance on internet shopping. It also states that the ease of entry in this mode made it difficult for the companies to protect themselves. This study also states that how individualistic and collectivist cultures show different type of tendencies while shopping on the internet. Individualist tends to show high rates than collectivist in internet shopping. These establishes hypothesis and to prove the relationship a linear regression model is used to verify the hypothesis. Article also discussed that how income level effects the rate of internet shopping. This article helps in establishing more proxy variables for my research.

Georage R.G. Clarke – 2005 : This article states that how internet is one of the factors leading towards globalization. It also looks at the effect of internet on export performance. This also states how low and middle income countries are being benefited from the usage of internet marketing in their export competencies. Author have used screening questionnaires to have an idea that how much businesses are running and carried out face to face interviews. The main data was collected from world bank and EBRD(European bank for reconstruction and development) surveys conducted in 1999, 2002 and 2005. The study conducts empirical estimation and run regression to support its hypothesis. It also establishes that companies are to export more when they start using internet as it would boost their exports. Though its does not states that how corruption, regulations or taxation can have an affect on the export performance. This article is also very important as it helps strengthen the relationship between internet and export performance and how e-marketing gives a competitive edge to the organization.


J. David Lichtenthal and Shay Eliaz (2001) This article states that how internet density is becoming high in business to business and how the internet is having an affect on the market size and structure. This article also discusses that with the use of e-commerce businesses are becoming fast and reliable and how the inefficiencies of a business are removed. Study also states that how web and e mail are becoming part of every business and how they give a competitive advantage to the organizations. This paper also helps to find the relation between business to business and business to consumers that how they are affected with the usage of internet technology. This study has provided some examples that hoe businesses are being benefited from the use of e-marketing.

Iver Endresen, Morten Gavlen and Oystein Moen (2003) this article is about a small computer software firm and how the usage of internet gives benefit in the international markets. In this article ‘internet literate” is used to describe those who know how to use this facility and what level of digitization is required to set up the business. This study states that customer feedback is important and ho it helps the firm. This also reduces chances of customers going to unfamiliar products and unknown suppliers. It also states that ho internet lead to reduce costs, expand markets, improve customer satisfaction and builds an image for the firm. This study was carried out on interviews with the senior management in different firms. Study also proves that how a small firm with the usage of e-marketing can lead to an advantage in the international markets.


Thomas Owen Singer and Michael R. Czinkota (1994) This article basically states that what strategies are to be used for a productive outcome of the exports. This article states that how managers use their skills to evaluate strategies and identify opportunities in export performance. Data was collected through questionnaires and then a cross sectional design was adopted to see the effects upon firms that how the commitment level, of the managers lead to a better export performance. This article helps in understanding export performance beside e-marketing to achieve success in exports.
